Becoming a nurse aide is an excellent starting point for those seeking a rewarding career in healthcare. The Academy for Healthcare Innovation (AHI) Nurse Aide Program provides an introduction to the basic skills and knowledge required to provide care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on labs and clinical experience.
In just eight weeks, you’ll learn how to:
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing and eating
- Take vital signs, monitor patient conditions and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
As a certified nurse aide, you can find employment at:
- Hospitals
- Nursing homes
- Retirement communities
- Home healthcare organizations
When you graduate, you’ll have the training and clinical hours needed for the following certification:
- State of Hawaiʻi Nurse Aide Certification

AHI is committed to helping applications get the tuition assistance they need. Once we receive your application, we can connect you with various funding support options.
Employer Sponsorship
AHI has relationships with local healthcare institutions that need nurse aides. These employers will often offer various tuition assistance options if you commit to work for them.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Funding
You may be eligible for up to $10,000 in tuition assistance and other benefits through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
There are income limits and eligibility requirements, including:
- Students must be accepted into the program prior to completing their application for tuition assistance.
- The application process takes approximately 8 weeks.
Tuition and Fees for the AHI Nurse Aide Program
We work with all our applications to ensure they get receive the scholarships and grants they qualify for to cover most or all of the tuition fees. Program tuition is calculated at a rate of $275 per credit, with students paying based on their enrolled credits each term along with any associated fees.
