Surgical instrument processing technicians (SIPT) have a foundation in the principles and practices of decontamination, inspection, assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. The Academy for Healthcare Innovation (AHI) SIPT Program provides comprehensive training in the principles and practices of decontamination, inspection, assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
You’ll be an essential part of preventing infection, ensuring the smooth operation of surgical departments and contributing to the highest standards of patient care.
In 32 weeks, you’ll learn how to:
- Identify and handle various types of surgical instruments
- Operate sterilization equipment
- Follow strict protocols to maintain a sterile environment
